Process

Surface prep -surface is blasted to a clean gray white metal with minimum 2.0 mil profile. Blasted metal surface shall conform to sspl-sp5 (or NACE1) specifications for a white metal blast. The media used to blast is Black Beauty 1240 slag.

Lining - Primer is to be applied immediately after blasting. Additional coats of cements to be applied per Blair Rubber Co. procedure. All cements applied with Wooster rollers. Raw rubber is applied in a variety of methods depending on the pipe and/or vessel. These methods primarily include hand stitching and/or pneumatic inflation.

Rubber - We are a distributor/fabricator for Blair Rubber, and you can visit their website at www.blairrubber.com to see some of the products that we have to work with.

Curing - We have one of the largest autoclaves in the country at 11.5' diameter x 55' long. The preferred method of curing is an autoclave cure at our site in Kansas City, MO. Plant steam cures, atmospheric cures, and chemical cures are also available for on-site rubber-lining projects.

Inspection - Pre-cure inspection consists of visual inspection and shadow test inspection, ensuring that all seems are properly adhered to pipe. Post cure inspections consist of a visual inspection and spark test.

Advantages - Rubber-lined pipe will last 3 to 5 times longer than alloys or hardened metals, and it will last up to 20 times as long as fiberglass. When it comes to beating corrosion, rubber-lining is second to none.

We stand behind our work! - A company doesn't stay in business for very long without standing behind its service, and we are no exception. We have been around since 1906, and we have been rubber-lining for almost 30 years. We guarantee dependability, great adhesion and long life.
